Dawson
Dawson Car Company Ltd.
Clay Lane
Stoke
Coventry
Warwickshire
1918-1921

AJ Dawson, previously Works Manager at Hillman, set up the Dawson car Company in June 1918. His first, and only, car was a 11-12hp 1795cc with a three-speed gearbox and was available in four body styles, most bodied by Charlesworth, and unusually, customers could not buy a chassis only. Most were sold in Dawson Blue (royal blue) with black wings, until 1920.

The Dawson cars were expensive, the cheapest was the two-seater at £750, and could not compete with Morris and Austin. In 1921 the Triumph Cycle Company Ltd. bought Dawson's premises and fittings in Clay Lane, Stoke and Dawson moved to Australia.

Some 65 to 70 cars were sold and possibly only one or two unrestored examples still exist.
